Call for Applications — Two Post-doctoral Positions in Mathematics — September 2027

The CDP C2EMPI invites applications for two post-doctoral positions in mathematics, starting in September 2027. Each position is for one year, renewable once for a further year.

This call aims to support outstanding research projects in mathematics, with particular emphasis on interdisciplinary research. Projects must involve collaboration with members of the mathematics laboratory at the University of Lille and may also involve members of the CRIStAL, IEM and PhLAM laboratories.

Applications from women researchers are particularly encouraged.

Application Materials

Applicants are invited to submit their application before 10 January 2027, as a single PDF file (.pdf extension) containing:

  1. A cover page providing the following information:

    • surname and first name;

    • email address;

    • date of birth;

    • actual or expected PhD defence date;

    • PhD thesis title;

    • name(s) of PhD supervisor(s);

    • names of the members of the mathematics laboratory with whom collaboration is envisaged and, where applicable, members of other laboratories, together with their affiliations.

  2. A curriculum vitae, including academic background, research experience, and a list of publications and preprints.

  3. A research proposal, outlining the scientific objectives, planned collaborations with members of the relevant laboratories, and the interdisciplinary aspects of the project. Any planned international collaborations should also be described.

The file must be named as follows: SURNAME_Firstname_Application.pdf.

Each letter must clearly state the applicant’s name and be submitted in PDF format (.pdf extension), with the filename SURNAME_Firstname_Recommendation_RefereeSurname.pdf, where SURNAME_Firstname refers to the applicant.

Selection

Applications will be reviewed by a selection committee. The main selection criteria will be the scientific excellence of the applicant and the research proposal, as well as the interdisciplinary nature of the project. An international dimension, particularly through planned collaborations, will be considered an additional asset.
